It is naturally antimicrobial, meaning it has an antifungal and antibacterial nature. It has many of the great qualities of silk but has the added benefit of being very easy to care for…just wash and throw in the dryer.It also breaths; the structure of the fiber is such that it actually wicks moisture away from your skin, is quick drying and yet moderately keeps you warmer. You will find that this type of fabric will be so much softer on your skin. Cashmere comes to mind when thinking of how soft these t-shirts and leggings are. Yet even though they are ultra-soft, the fiber is even stronger than cotton. The Composition
The fabric is made from the pulp of the bamboo plant...that’s right; the same plant that is used for flooring can be used for making clothes as well. The resulting fiber is a bit thinner than cotton fiber, but when several fibers are twisted together the clothing can be made the same thickness as cotton but still maintains a much softer feel. These plants grow very quickly, and usually the use of pesticides and herbicides are not necessary making this type of fabric a greener option than cotton.
